| Sennen has a post office with
general stores attached (including newspapers), a pub (the famous First and
Last Inn) and a church. The nearby Seaview holiday camp offers some facilities
to non residents including a restaurant and takeaway during the holiday season.
The Cove offers further restaurants, Surf Shop and general store as well as
another pub, The Old Success. For more extensive shopping facilities, St Just
is about 3 to 4 miles away and has a Co-op supermarket, bakers and various
take-aways. Penzance, about 10 miles away has a much wider range of shops
including Tesco, Morrison, Macdonald's, KFC, Boots, WH Smith, Woolworths,
etc. |

|
| The Far West of Cornwall is an
area of outstanding natural beauty and interest and Sennen Churchtown offers an
ideal base for exploring the area by car or on foot. Apart from White Sands
beach in the cove there are other excellent beaches close at hand and we
particularly recommend trips to Porthcurno and Porthgwarra beaches. While at
Porthcurno, why not visit the Minack Open Air Theatre and the theatre museum on
the cliffs above the beach. |
|
| |
|
| We are close to several public
footpaths including the coastal footpath and many interesting and invigorating
short and long distance walks can be undertaken starting from the apartment. The
area is renowned for its bird and marine life. Basking sharks and seals are
regularly seen from the cliff paths and Whitesands bay is known as, "The Bay
where the dolphins play". There are many bird watching areas nearby, such as
Polgigga, Nanjizal and Marazion marshes. The coastal paths are bounded by a
carpet of heather and seasonal wild flowers |

|
| For those interested in art,
the area is outstanding. Because of the quality of light in the Far West, it
has always been a haven for artists and this is reflected in the number of
galleries to be found, particularly in St Ives but also in Newlyn and Penzance.
You may also like to visit Sennen's own art gallery, The Roundhouse, down in
the Cove. |
|
| |
|
| There are a number of National
Trust houses and conservation areas within easy reach. |
|
| |
|
| You will find books, brochures
and leaflets about the beaches, restaurants, arts galleries, museums, etc in
the apartment and you will, we hope, find much to interest you in the area.

|
| We hope you will enjoy a stay
at Longships, Apartment 4 and find the Far West of Cornwall as spectacular and
exciting as we do. |
|
| |
|
| Longships is available all
year round so why not consider an out of season holiday at a bargain out of
season price. The Far West presents an entirely different face in Autumn,
Winter and Spring, sometimes quiet and reflective, sometimes wild and
spectacular. |
